Handmade knives from the knifemaker - knives to order

A quality handmade knife combines purpose and beauty. Whether it is a hunting knife, a bushcraft knife, an EDC knife or a kitchen knife, it should always form a harmonious unit with its owner.

Custom knife making is the best way to get a tool that meets all your expectations.

There are many materials, shapes and knife designs. The appropriate choice depends on the purpose of use, taste and personal preference.

Handmade knives made to order from a knifemaker are always original. Especially if you work with natural materials. For example, you won’t find two pieces of wood in the world that are exactly the same.

A handmade knife complements the personality of its owner.

You can buy already made original knives from me or have a custom knife or just sheath made to your liking.

I will be happy to make you a stainless steel or carbon steel knife or a damascus knife. Each material has its advantages and it is up to you what you prefer.

If you’re not sure which knife is right for you, take a look at the How to Choose a Knife page or give me a call.

For inspiration, you can also take a look at my handmade knives that already have an owner. If you want, I can make you a similar one. All the knives you see here are unique and meet the highest standards. I make each knife as if I were making it for myself.

Custom-made knives - choose your material

As many people as there are opinions. I personally like natural materials on my knives, but I also use modern techniques.

The basis of a good handmade knife is quality steel. Today, a plethora of different steels are available in a wide range of price ranges. Modern metallurgical processes can create materials that knifemakers never dreamed of a few decades ago.

It is no longer true that a good knife must be forged. Conversely, you must not hammer on high-alloy steels and steels created by powder metallurgy, otherwise you will degrade their properties.

Four properties are important for cutlery steel: hardness, toughness, abrasion resistance and corrosion resistance. Unfortunately, these properties go largely against each other, so each material is to some extent a compromise and the choice of steel must be guided by the intended use of the knife. The more expensive the steel, the more features it excels in. Here is an overview of the steels I use most often.

A variety of materials and combinations of materials can be used for the knife handle, from leather to wood to various synthetic materials. I like wood the best because its pattern is unique and it emphasizes the uniqueness of the knife. For the sake of resistance and durability, I use wood stabilization, which also makes it possible to create interesting effects in wood and emphasizes its natural structure.
