54SiCr6 standard spring steel with high toughness, very resistant to breakage.
Compared to N690, N695 offers higher toughness at the cost of poorer wear resistance. It is ideal for both kitchen knives and outdoor knives.
Tool steel K720 offers excellent toughness in conjunction with a high hardness of 60-64 HRC. Wear resistance and sandability are above average.
Powder steel RWL-34 has balanced properties in terms of blade retention, grindability and toughness. Achievable hardness is 58-59 HRC.
Tool steel K110 is highly wear-resistant, holds the edge well, but is difficult to sharpen.
The hardness of up to 64 HRC is achievable with the Sleipner steel, it is normally tempered to 61 HRC while maintaining solid toughness.
N690 is highly resistant to corrosion, so knives made from it require minimal care. It offers solid blade resistance and toughness in the medium price category.
